Church Day Festival
The Church Day Festival in Riva di Tures takes place every year in July. It is based on a custom that has been celebrated for generations and inspires locals and holiday guests anew every year. It begins on Saturday afternoon with the erection of the "Michlbaum". In the evening, there is music and good spirits in the festival tent. Sunday morning starts with an extensive frühschoppen (morning pint), accompanied by folk music. The highlight of the day is the raffle of the Michlbaum and other material prizes at 5:00 pm.
Tauferer Street Cuisine
Every Tuesday evening in July and August, the town center of Sand in Taufers turns into a lively meeting place for gourmets and foodies. At numerous stands, traditional dishes from the region are served that will make your taste buds dance. But not only the palate is catered for: live music and entertainment create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Almabtrieb (Cattle Drive)
Every two years on the third weekend in October, it's time again in Riva di Tures for the so-called "Kiekemma". Magnificently decorated parade floats and alpine livestock, along with musicians, move down from the high alpine pastures into the village and into the stables. A two-day tent festival with several music groups and dance entertainment ensures a cheerful atmosphere. Culinary delights from traditional South Tyrolean cuisine will pamper the palate and there is also games and fun for the little ones.
